About the position

The Electronics Hardware Engineer at Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation is responsible for the design, testing, and validation of embedded systems, particularly focusing on low power RF communication circuits and networks. This role involves system integration, functional testing, and providing hardware design support for advanced commercial and industrial water management solutions. The engineer will also maintain existing products and contribute to new product development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides embedded electronics systems design and testing support to engineering and manufacturing.
  • Maintains/supports existing connected products, engineering system validation, and approval for new product development, cost reduction, and VAVE efforts.
  • Designs test instructions and procedures for embedded electronics, wireless technologies, sensors, and data analytics.
  • Performs design verification and testing of smart embedded controllers, RF technologies, and Gateways for various water management based connected products and IoT solutions.
  • Supports in testing and validation of cloud-based data analytics and web-UI interfaces.
  • Creates test set-up and test spec requirements and ECNs.
  • Supports other team members in establishing design excellence and supporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronic, Control systems, or Computer Science Engineering.
  • 3-4 years of hands-on experience in design, testing, and validation of IoT systems and networks, advanced controls, embedded software/firmware testing/debugging, system level firmware integration (I2C, UART, JTAG, SPI, and ADCs).
  • Experience with Altium schematic capture tools and PWB design tools.
  • System functional testing and verification methods and firmware release management.
  • Basic understanding of electronics, including analog/digital circuit theory and EMC/ESD in electronics.
  • Previous experience in application and testing of RF technologies such as Wi-Fi, LoRa (WAN), or BLE is preferred.
  • Data analytics and simulation skills are preferred.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, capable of working within a team structure.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
