About the position

The Electronics Hardware Intern position at Komatsu in Warrendale, PA, offers an opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields to gain hands-on experience in developing electronic and programmable hardware for underground mining machines. Interns will work closely with a team to enhance their skills in circuit design, PCB development, and hardware testing in a supportive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of Electronic and Programmable Hardware for global mining equipment.
  • Design analog and digital circuits for underground machines.
  • Create schematics and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Perform circuit simulation, electrical testing, and verification of electronic circuits.
  • Design programmable hardware modules and associated test benches for FPGAs.
  • Develop hardware electronic devices suitable for rugged environments.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Proven strengths in electronic circuit design, FPGAs, PCB, and schematics.
  • Experience operating various types of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and signal generators.
