About the position

This senior engineering position focuses on the electronic design and development of battery management system components for low and high voltage battery and super capacitor systems. The role involves leading a development team and ensuring that electronic products meet hardware requirements while integrating with software and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in the design, analysis, and execution of electronic products/projects.
  • Ensure hardware requirements meet current and future battery management system level requirements.
  • Direct design integration with software, manufacturing, and battery systems.
  • Review and confirm hardware analysis plans and approve test results.
  • Lead design justification and design reviews to support production launch development processes.
  • Ensure design and development for manufacturability and product testability.
  • Facilitate development of DFMEAs and functional safety within battery management systems.
  • Act as a technical lead in design team activities and communication to OE and internal customers.
  • Direct technical aspects of team members to resolve issues and make decisions.
  • Present technical topics within electronics engineering teams or product groups.
  • Lead and support new business quote activities.
  • Promote organization skills in creativity, innovation, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Bridge industry trends with Clarios design approaches for electronics.
  • Focus on electronics knowledge development and innovative technology for BMS electronic products.
  • Support strategic electronics direction to establish Clarios as an industry leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience in a related field.
  • OE Automotive/Tier 1 Powertrain electronics experience.
  • Technical/project leadership experience.
  • Experience with schematic capture tools, such as Altium.
  • Experience with electronic circuit debug, test, and simulation tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Li-Ion battery management.
  • Experience in requirement management tools, such as Doors or Jama.
  • Educational or professional embedded software engineering experience.
