About the position

The Electronics Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, analyzing, and repairing submarine mast and antenna systems for the Department of the Navy. This role involves working with various electronic systems and subsystems, ensuring they meet operational specifications. The position requires independent work with limited supervision and coordination with other trades to achieve proper installation and alignment of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair submarine mast and antenna systems, including towed buoy antennas and emergency antennas.
• Inspect for damaged components, wear, and faulty alignment in antennas and related systems.
• Perform electrical and mechanical tests on repaired assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Disassemble subsystems to the component level for repair and maintenance.
• Interpret drawings and schematic diagrams to repair electronic equipment.
• Communicate clearly with team members to ensure clarity of mission and objectives.
• Work independently to meet production schedules.

Requirements

• Ability to troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, test, align, and adjust complex electronic equipment and components.
• Ability to conduct comprehensive tests and analyze equipment performance to isolate malfunctions.
• Advanced knowledge of electronics and electrical theory.
• Experience using a diverse range of precision test equipment.
