About the position

The position involves maintaining electronic trip units for MCCB and ACB Circuit Breakers, supporting Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Plants in North America. The role includes auditing manufacturing facilities for product compliance, leading engineering project teams, developing technical product specifications, and supporting customer returns analysis. The candidate will also be responsible for creating verification and validation test plans, analyzing risks, and developing user documentation, while collaborating with various functions and certification agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electronic trip units for MCCB and ACB Circuit Breakers.
  • Support Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Plants in North America.
  • Audit manufacturing facilities for product compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., UL, IEC, ANSI).
  • Lead engineering project teams and interface with cross-functional peers for new product development.
  • Develop and review solutions for external and internal customers.
  • Support internal and external customer returns analysis.
  • Create marketing offer requirements and technical product specifications for new product development.
  • Engineer qualification for electronic trip unit production line.
  • Support the build of electronic trip unit prototypes for testing.
  • Review fixture design and create verification and validation test plans.
  • Interpret test results and synthesize data into technical communication for presentations.
  • Oversee development of product definition files including schematic capture and BOM creation.
  • Analyze risks of safety products and develop mitigations using FMEAs and FTA techniques.
  • Develop, debug, analyze, and perform root cause analysis for HW and embedded systems.
  • Contribute to user documentation such as instruction bulletins and safety labels.
  • Work with 3rd party certification agencies to facilitate agency certification.

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent expertise in electrical engineering.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in electronics HW product development.
  • Knowledge of AGILE Methodology is a plus.
  • Basic experience in Product Testing and Evaluation Methods (UL/CSA/NOM/IEC/CCC/ANSI).
  • Circuit Breaker design experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or PhD degree or candidate is a plus.
  • Experience with Cadence tool suite preferred.
  • Understanding of EMC testing and design mitigation techniques.
  • Thermal modeling and understanding of magnetics desirable.
