Parsons is seeking an Electronics Technician to join our team, primarily focused on providing technical support services under the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role requires 100% travel throughout the FAA Central Service area, with all travel expenses covered by the company. The T5 contract, valued at over $1.8 billion, spans a four-year base period with two additional three-year options, and involves a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts. These activities include site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. The work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions, as well as at the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, along with several U.S. territories. The contract is supported by an average staff of 400-500, peaking at over 650, including subcontractors involved in construction work. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including replacing components, wiring circuits, and repairing simple electronic equipment. You will utilize common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes to take test readings. Your role will also involve supporting site preparation for contractor installations of FENS racks, providing critical power circuits and grounding, and ensuring proper installation of cable trays and conduits. You will be expected to install sensors, wires, cabling, computers, radios, and satellites in various weather conditions, and perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical components and audio equipment. This position requires a proactive approach to support general installation and construction efforts, including drafting as-built documents from redlines. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma and be able to work in extreme weather conditions, lift at least 50 pounds, and have basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, and email. A background check by federal authorities will be required to meet customer security requirements. The role demands a commitment to travel extensively within the Central Service Area, making it essential for candidates to be adaptable and ready for a dynamic work environment.
