About the position

The Electronics Technician 3 position at LZ Technology, Inc. involves supporting NASA's Flight Operations Directorate within the Mission Training Center (MTC) and Mission Control Center (MCC). The role focuses on equipment and trainer configurations, system modifications, testing, and maintenance, ensuring safety and performance standards are met. The technician will work with various communication and computing systems, participate in system design reviews, and may lead or instruct others in the team.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on audio, video, data communications, and network systems.
• Install and modify equipment as needed for operational requirements.
• Reconfigure, set up, and validate testing of simulator visual and communication systems prior to training sessions.
• Participate in system design reviews and analyses.
• Adhere to NASA and MSOC policies for workmanship quality and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 8 years of related technical experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and pull cabling.
• Experience working in confined spaces and from ladders or platforms.
• Ability to solder, fabricate, or repair copper and fiber optic cabling per NASA's standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Windows, and Linux.
• Experience with Voice and Video over IP, Networking Servers, Switches, Routers, Hubs, Firewalls, LAN and WAN.
• Work history of analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving anomalies related to computer and electronic hardware.
