About the position

The Electronics Technician and IT Leader at ADX Communications is responsible for managing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems in a broadcasting environment. This role ensures the operational integrity of studio and transmitting equipment while adhering to FCC standards. The technician will work collaboratively with broadcast talent and other team members to support remote broadcasts and maintain competitive radio signals in the community.

Responsibilities

• Maintains station operation through preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Establishes routine maintenance procedures and schedules for all broadcast equipment including documentation.
• Handles the installation and maintenance of Wheatstone control consoles and AOIP audio distribution, PC and server-based audio editors, skimmer and streaming computers, transmitters, antennas, control systems, remote equipment, etc.
• Works with local broadcast talent to support remote broadcasts as needed.

Requirements

• Good verbal & written communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels and multitask under pressure.
• Experience with satellite distribution, local affiliate audio, audio routing, digital audio, and delivery.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft365 and Internet interfaced proprietary gear, including iMediaTouch & WheatNet software.
• Ability to troubleshoot broadcast and business computer equipment to the component level.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot/repair high-power AM and FM transmitting facilities.
• IT skills including LAN and WAN knowledge.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, UPS, and standby generators.
• Knowledge of POTs and VOIP telephone systems.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and climb stairs and ladders.

Nice-to-haves

• Military experience is highly appreciated.
• SBE CBRE Certification is a plus.
