About the position

The Electronics Technician I position at Arcata Associates involves applying technical knowledge to perform routine tasks related to the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. The role includes responsibilities such as equipment installation, preventive maintenance, and basic fabrication tasks, all while following detailed instructions and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
  • Replace components and wire circuits, repair simple electronic equipment, and conduct routine preventive and remedial maintenance on equipment.
  • Assist in equipment installation under general supervision.
  • Perform operations for all assigned equipment.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance of digital and analog electronic equipment using work cards and/or technical documentation.
  • Perform remedial maintenance of digital and analog electronic equipment to the subassembly/circuit card level using work cards and/or technical documentation.
  • Execute basic fabrication tasks for the construction of mechanical and electronic assemblies for electronic equipment using detailed technical documentation, data, and procedures.
  • Operate assigned electronic equipment and Range Systems in accordance with detailed operating instructions.
  • Perform basic equipment installation tasks in accordance with detailed technical documentation, data, and guidance from engineers or higher-level technicians.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance management and operations documentation.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of formal training in an accredited commercial or military electronics school.
  • At least six months of experience operating and maintaining digital and analog electronic equipment.
  • Working knowledge of electronic test equipment used for preventive and remedial maintenance, such as oscilloscopes, vector scopes, volt-ohm meters, frequency counters and generators, logic analyzers/emulators, and waveform monitors.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication and assembly techniques for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with team members and others.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate computers to input and retrieve data accurately.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including moderate lifting (up to 45 pounds) and climbing.
