About the position

The Electronics Technician II at Vontier is responsible for advanced level repair and testing of electronic equipment, focusing on diagnosing and repairing issues down to the board level. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining inventory, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and support.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electronic equipment down to board level solder work.
  • Read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Perform mechanical or non-electrical repairs as needed.
  • Timely troubleshooting and repair of all assigned equipment.
  • Compile and analyze repair history to reduce failure rates and report increases in product replacement.
  • Complete Work Orders and invoicing/credits in Acumatica.
  • Review RMA and associated orders for errors and notify relevant departments if corrective action is needed.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the work area.
  • Create and maintain accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned products.
  • Maintain physical inventory of swap equipment and repair parts.
  • Assist with daily receiving of assigned equipment as necessary.
  • Monitor equipment and repair part levels to maintain zero outages.
  • Create Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) as needed.
  • Assist with hardware support issues and troubleshoot over the phone with the Knowledge Center.
  • Purchase parts inventory and work with vendors on acquiring RMAs.
  • Prepare equipment for shipment to vendors and complete testing of returned equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous electrical repair experience required, with 3 years preferred.
  • Ability to read and diagnose from schematics required.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in SalesForce and Acumatica desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Warehouse and assembly experience a plus.
