About the position

The Electronics Technician II will be responsible for installing, operating and repairing a variety of electronic equipment used for research, instructional, or plant operation activities. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs electronic circuits using necessary equipment.
  • Repairs mechanical and electrical equipment as required.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and instructs students on the accurate use of equipment.
  • Helps design and fabricate electronic equipment.
  • Document, repair and design electronics systems using AutoCAD and/or pCad as required.
  • Establishes and oversees standard operating procedures.
  • Performs research tasks and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience as an electronics technician.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, spectrum analyzers, digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, radio test equipment, meters, signal generators, amp meters, voltmeters, and other digital instruments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates Degree/vocational school.
  • Ability to operate forklift, overhead crane and operate and repair electrical switch gear.
  • Ability to repair power supply.
