About the position

As an Electronics Technician III at Parsons, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the Technical Support Services Contract 4 (T4). This contract, awarded in August 2012, is valued at over $1.3 billion and encompasses a wide range of activities aimed at modernizing the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP). Your work will involve conducting various tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, and meticulously recording test data. You will also be responsible for identifying deviations that may arise from equipment malfunctions or observational errors, ensuring that all operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety. In addition to testing, you will construct components and subunits, adapt standard equipment, and assemble or deconstruct simple or standard equipment or parts. Your role will also include servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment. As part of your field installations, you will follow specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems, including ICMS NAVAID Facilities such as ILS, RVR, PAPI, and ALA, as well as NEXCOM Radios. You will assist in the performance of plant construction activities, which may involve tasks such as duct banks, conduits, wiring, and running cables up towers. Throughout your work, you will receive technical guidance from your supervisor or higher-level technicians, and you will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in using complex test equipment. Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, and recording test data.
  • Identify deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
  • Construct components and subunits or adapt standard equipment and/or assemble, construct or deconstruct simple or standard equipment or parts.
  • Service or repair simple instruments or equipment.
  • Follow specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems during field installations.
  • Assist in the performance of plant construction activities, including duct banks, conduits, wiring, and running cables up towers.
  • Receive technical guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians in the performance of tasks.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the use of complex test equipment.

Requirements

  • Prior experience or education in electronics; minimum three years experience or equivalent in education and/or military technical training.
  • Ability to meet customer security requirements, including undergoing a background check by Federal Authorities.
