In this role as an Electronics Technician for Telecommunications Site Preparation, you will be an integral part of the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to Parsons. This contract, valued at over $1.8 billion, encompasses a wide range of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and various reimbursable programs, including the FAA NextGen Program, national security initiatives, and aviation safety measures. Your work will involve site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety assessments, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. You will be expected to travel extensively across the nation, working in each of the FAA's nine regions, as well as at the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, along with several U.S. territories. As an Electronics Technician, you will conduct a variety of tests using established methods, prepare test specimens, adjust and operate equipment, record test data, and identify deviations resulting from equipment malfunctions or observational errors. You will also be responsible for constructing components and subunits, adapting standard equipment, assembling or deconstructing simple or standard equipment or parts, and servicing or repairing simple instruments or equipment. Following specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems will be a key part of your field installations. You will assist in the performance of plant construction activities, including duct banks, conduits, wiring, and running cables up towers. Throughout your tasks, you will receive technical guidance from your supervisor or higher-level technicians and will be expected to demonstrate knowledge in the use of complex test equipment.
