About the position

In this role as an Electronics Technician for Telecommunications Site Preparation at Parsons Corporation, you will be an integral part of the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This contract, valued at over $1.8 billion, encompasses a wide range of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and various reimbursable programs, including the FAA NextGen Program, national security initiatives, and aviation safety measures. Your work will involve site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety assessments, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. You will be working across the nation in all nine FAA regions, as well as in U.S. territories, contributing to a project that employs an average of 500 staff, with peaks over 650, alongside subcontractors involved in construction work. As an Electronics Technician, you will conduct a variety of tests using established methods, prepare test specimens, adjust and operate equipment, record test data, and identify deviations caused by equipment malfunctions or observational errors. You will also be responsible for constructing components and subunits, adapting standard equipment, and assembling or deconstructing simple or standard equipment or parts. Your role will require you to follow specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems, including ILS, RVR, PAPI, ALA, and NEXCOM Radios. Additionally, you will assist in the performance of plant construction activities, such as duct banks, conduits, and wiring, and running cables up towers. You will receive technical guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians as needed and will be expected to demonstrate knowledge in the use of complex test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of tests using established methods, preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, recording test data, and pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
  • Construct components and subunits or adapt standard equipment and/or assemble, construct or deconstruct simple or standard equipment or parts, service or repair simple instruments or equipment.
  • Follow specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems, including ILS, RVR, PAPI, ALA, and NEXCOM Radios during field installations.
  • Assist in the performance of plant construction activities, such as duct banks, conduits, wiring, and running cables up towers.
  • Receive technical guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians in the performance of tasks and display knowledge in the use of complex test equipment.

Requirements

  • Prior experience or education in electronics; minimum three years experience or equivalent in education and/or military technical training.
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.
