As an Electronics Technician specializing in Telecommunications Site Preparation, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) awarded to Parsons. This contract, valued at over $1.8 billion, encompasses a wide range of activities that align with the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and various reimbursable programs, including the FAA NextGen Program, national security initiatives, and aviation safety measures. Your work will involve site selection, engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety assessments, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. You will be part of a dedicated team that operates across the nation, including FAA's nine regions and key facilities in Oklahoma City and Atlantic City, ensuring the successful execution of projects that are vital to the nation's aviation infrastructure. In this role, you will conduct a variety of tests using established methods, prepare test specimens, adjust and operate equipment, and meticulously record test data. You will also be responsible for identifying deviations caused by equipment malfunctions or observational errors. Your technical skills will be put to the test as you construct components and subunits, adapt standard equipment, and assemble or deconstruct simple equipment or parts. Field installations will require you to follow specific design layouts for FAA NAVAID and Radio Communication Systems, including ICMS NAVAID Facilities such as ILS, RVR, PAPI, and ALA, as well as NEXCOM Radios. Additionally, you will assist in construction activities, including duct banks, conduits, wiring, and running cables up towers, while receiving technical guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians as needed. Your ability to utilize complex test equipment will be essential in performing these tasks effectively.
