About the position

The Electronics/Test Engineering Intern position at Lockheed Martin in Troy, Alabama, is designed for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology. This internship, starting in January 2025, offers hands-on experience in Production Engineering, focusing on the manufacture of military missile systems. Interns will develop skills in ordnance handling, mechanical assembly, electronic testing, and factory automation, while also learning to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop hands-on Production Engineering skills to support the manufacture of military missile systems.
• Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to develop manufacturing processes.
• Utilize software systems to develop manufacturing work instructions and analyze data.
• Support test troubleshooting and design/document process flows.
• Investigate root causes of failures/defects and implement preventative/corrective actions.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting.
• Must pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with 3D printing and manufacturing assembly and test methods.
• Knowledge of industrial processes and factory automation.
• Software programming skills and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
