About The Position

The Electrophysiology Technologist (EP Tech) plays a crucial role in assisting cardiovascular providers during electrophysiology procedures, including the monitoring and scrubbing of procedures related to pacemakers, defibrillators, and endocardial ablation. This position requires collaboration with the EP Clinical Coordinator and Registered Nurses, ensuring efficient operation within the Radiology Services department.

Requirements

  • WA. State Registered Radiologic Technologist, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) required.
  • Two years of recent EP Lab experience.
  • Proficiency in both scrubbing and monitoring/recording EP procedures.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Effective communication skills in oral and written English.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and effectively.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and effective interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist cardiovascular providers in scrubbing and monitoring electrophysiology procedures.
  • Operate electrophysiology specialty equipment, including 3D mapping systems and EP monitoring systems.
  • Serve as a role model and expert resource for standards of care in electrophysiology procedures.
  • Demonstrate expertise in troubleshooting EP specialty equipment used during procedures.
  • Implement safe and efficient patient care according to hospital policies and standards.
  • Collect, assess, and document data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure informed patient consent is obtained and Universal Protocol standards are followed for invasive procedures.
  • Maintain daily safety checklists for various equipment and document equipment problems in service logs.
  • Transport patients safely as necessary.
