About the position

As an Elementary/Middle School Art Teacher at Charter Schools USA, you will play a vital role in inspiring and motivating young learners. Your primary responsibility will be to create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth. Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy and goals.
  • Develop purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that maximize teaching strategies and time on task.
  • Present subject matter to students to enhance learning opportunities with real-world applications.
  • Review student records to understand each student's abilities and needs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Utilize a variety of learning modalities and differentiated instruction in lessons.
  • Conduct frequent diagnostic assessments of student learning.
  • Assess student strengths and weaknesses and provide appropriate activities to address their needs.
  • Coordinate class field trips as required.
  • Prepare students for state-required achievement assessments.
  • Stay current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory.
  • Assist in the ongoing curriculum revision process and selection of instructional materials.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
  • Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintain order in a fair manner.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to the mission of the company.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office, Student Information System (SIS), and email communications.
  • Ability to consistently be at work on time and follow management directions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in teaching art or related subjects.
  • Familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Participation in extracurricular activities.
