About the position
The Elementary Teacher for Grade 2 is responsible for delivering effective teaching and learning experiences in accordance with the North Clackamas School District's approved curriculum. This full-time, temporary position is set to begin on January 6, 2025, and conclude on June 16, 2025. The teacher will focus on student safety, collaboration, and addressing each student's readiness to learn, while also fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity.
Responsibilities
- Deliver effective instruction in accordance with district-approved curriculum.
- Ensure student safety and welfare in the classroom.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices.
- Assess and evaluate student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Engage with culturally diverse families and communities to strengthen relationships.
- Utilize technology to support instruction and learning.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college or university.
- Possess or able to obtain Oregon licensure for elementary multiple subjects.
- Experience working with culturally diverse families and communities.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
- Strong content knowledge for subjects being taught.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with parents, students, and staff.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development and appropriate instructional practices.
- Skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning.
