About the position

Cole Academy is seeking a full-time Elementary Art Teacher to work at both the Lansing and East Lansing campuses. The role requires a teacher certification and an Elementary Education Art endorsement. The teacher will be responsible for delivering core subjects, utilizing research-based literacy objectives, and supporting student achievement through various educational strategies.

Responsibilities

• Teaches all core subjects in a classroom, utilizing courses of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning activities.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
• Continuously evaluates students' academic, emotional and social growth using appropriate records, and prepares ongoing progress reports.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues regarding curriculum, instruction, interventions and assessment.
• Follows the goals of students on an IEP or 504 plan.
• Maintains ongoing, multiple methods of communication with parents.
• Maintains professional competence through learning activities provided by the District and/or self-selected professional learning activities.
• Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by the building administrator following guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook and by the Board of Education.

Requirements

• Must have teacher certification.
• Elementary Education Art endorsement required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.

• Experience with MTSS tiered interventions and PBIS behavior support.
