About The Position

The Part-Time Elementary Certified Tutor at Sylvan Learning Center is responsible for providing individualized academic tutoring to students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. This role focuses on building students' skills and confidence through personalized instruction, ensuring that each student understands the material thoroughly. Tutors will work in a supportive environment that emphasizes the importance of academic success and personal growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; teaching credential preferred.
• Mastery of knowledge at all elementary grade levels.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Work in 1-hour tutoring blocks, up to 5 blocks per night and 4 nights per week, at the tutor's discretion.
• Effectively tutor as many as three students per block.
• Observe and record students' progress through pre-planned curriculum.
• Communicate clearly and quickly with Center Directors regarding availability and student concerns.
