About the position

The position involves enabling children to pursue their education effectively in the absence of their regular teacher. The role requires following lesson plans, managing student behavior, and maintaining communication with school staff and administration.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher.
• Teaches lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Reports daily activities and provides feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follows school policies and procedures as a regular teacher would.
• Consults with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintains established routines and procedures in the classroom.
• Oversees pupil behavior during class and throughout the school day.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior at all times.
• Maintains good relations with faculty and staff.
• Handles student and staff information with confidentiality.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop (as required).
• Commitment to company values.
• Alternatives to the above requirements as deemed appropriate by CSUSA.

• Strong time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
