The Elementary Daily Substitute at Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) plays a crucial role in ensuring that students continue their education smoothly in the absence of their regular teacher. This position is dedicated to inspiring and motivating young learners while adhering to the educational standards and policies of the school. The substitute teacher will follow lesson plans, manage student behavior, and maintain effective communication with school staff, all while embodying the mission of CSUSA to provide a rigorous education and support student success.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teaches lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Reports daily activities in writing and provides feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follows all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consults with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversees pupil behavior in class and during the school day as requested.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.
• Maintains good relations with faculty and staff.
• Treats information about students and staff with utmost confidentiality.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop (as required by the district).
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.
• Ability to work and interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
• Strong time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
• Basic computer skills including Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
