As an Elementary Daily Substitute at Charter Schools USA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students continue their education smoothly in the absence of their regular teacher. You will be responsible for following lesson plans, managing student behavior, and maintaining the established routines of the classroom, all while fostering a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teach lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Report daily activities in writing and provide feedback as requested by the building principal.
• Follow all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consult with the building principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class and during the school day as requested.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.
• Maintain good relations with faculty and staff.
• Treat information about students and staff with utmost confidence.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop (as required by the district).
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.
• Ability to work and interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
• Strong time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
• Basic computer skills including Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, including active listening.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in an educational environment.
• Previous substitute teaching experience.
