About the position

The position involves enabling children to pursue their education effectively in the absence of their regular teacher. The role requires following lesson plans, managing student behavior, and maintaining communication with school staff to ensure a smooth educational experience for students.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teaches lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Reports daily activities in writing and provides feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follows all school policies, rules, and procedures applicable to regular teachers.
• Consults with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintains established routines and procedures in the classroom.
• Oversees pupil behavior in class and during the school day as requested.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop (as required by the district).
• Commitment to company values.
• Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.
• Time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
• Basic computer skills including knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
