About the position
The Elementary Long Term Substitute Teacher at Portland Public Schools is responsible for providing instructional support and maintaining a positive learning environment at Oakwood Elementary from January 21, 2025, through April 3, 2025. This role requires the ability to integrate technology into teaching, communicate effectively, and manage classroom dynamics while ensuring student achievement and safety.
Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess student learning.
- Develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues.
- Integrate technology into teaching and learning practices.
- Handle complex and stressful issues with sound judgment and a calm demeanor.
- Contribute to a safe school climate with high expectations and strong collaboration.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate or Substitute Permit.
- Experience in teaching or education.
- Ability to sustain and improve student achievement outcomes.
- Exceptional communication, analysis, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Benefits
