About the position

The 3rd Grade Elementary Math Teacher at Louisiana Virtual Charter Academy (LAVCA) is a state-certified educator responsible for delivering engaging and personalized math instruction in an online environment. This role focuses on supporting students' individual learning needs, monitoring their progress, and collaborating with parents and learning coaches to ensure academic success. The position requires a commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity while providing a high-quality educational experience for students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students.
• Manage the learning process and focus on individual student needs.
• Monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system.
• Communicate regularly with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
• Differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels.
• Maintain grade book and ensure academic integrity.
• Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues.
• Travel occasionally for professional development and state testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to clear required background check
