About the position

The Elementary Perm Substitute position in Miami, FL, is designed to enable children to continue their education smoothly in the absence of their regular teacher. The role involves following lesson plans, managing student behavior, and maintaining good relations with faculty and staff while adhering to school policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teach lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Report daily activities in writing and provide feedback as requested by the principal.
• Follow all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consult with the principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class and during the school day.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.
• Maintain good relations with faculty and staff and treat information about students and staff with confidentiality.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop.
• Commitment to company values.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
