About the position

The Substitute Teacher role at Innovation Preparatory Academy is designed to ensure that students continue their education effectively in the absence of their regular teacher. This position involves following lesson plans, managing student behavior, and maintaining communication with school staff to support a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teach lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Report daily activities in writing and provide feedback as requested by the building principal.
• Follow all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consult with the building principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversee pupil behavior in class and during school hours as requested.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior throughout the school day.
• Maintain good relations with faculty and staff and treat student information with confidentiality.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop.
• Commitment to company values.
