About the position

The Elementary Perm Substitute at Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) plays a crucial role in ensuring that students continue their education smoothly in the absence of their regular teacher. This position is dedicated to inspiring and motivating young learners, aligning with CSUSA's mission of a Relentless Commitment to Student Greatness in School and in Life™. The substitute teacher will follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, manage student behavior, and maintain established routines within the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and schedules with the principal or designated teacher before the teaching day.
• Teaches lessons prepared by the absent teacher.
• Reports daily activities in writing and provides feedback as requested by the building principal.
• Follows all school and CSUSA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Consults with the building principal or supervisor before initiating any lesson not specified in the teacher's plans.
• Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms.
• Oversees pupil behavior in class and during the school day as requested.
• Maintains appropriate student behavior at all times throughout the school day.
• Maintains good relations with faculty and staff of the district.
• Treats information about students and staff with utmost confidence.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Completion of District's Substitute Workshop.
• Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job and the mission of the company.
• Ability to work and interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
• Strong time management skills including prioritizing, organizing, and scheduling.
• Basic computer skills including Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
