About The Position

The Elementary Reading Interventionist at Stride, Inc. is responsible for providing targeted support to at-risk students to enhance their academic performance in reading. This full-time position involves modifying curriculum, collaborating with teachers, and utilizing data-driven strategies to ensure student success. The role requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse educational environment, and the ability to work independently in a virtual setting while maintaining a professional home office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active state teaching license
  • Ability to clear required background check
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce representations of student data
  • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
  • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support targeted students through individualized and small group sessions.
  • Educate parents on various instructional strategies.
  • Implement the RTI instructional system to increase student achievement.
  • Oversee data collection and progress monitoring at every tier.
  • Use data to help teachers plan whole and small group instruction and provide guidance on identifying students needing additional help.
  • Collect and maintain all RTI data, including lists of eligible students and intervention plans.
  • Serve as a resource to school administrators and leadership teams regarding RTI issues.
  • Coordinate and track Tier 2 interventions with homeroom teachers and district personnel.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to staff regarding RTI and data collection procedures.
  • Support teachers in documenting student progress.
  • Work with the special education team to facilitate eligibility for special education.
