About the position
The Elementary School Aide position at Legacy Traditional Schools involves providing essential support to teachers, students, and administrative staff to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities within the school. The role is focused on assisting with various tasks, supervising students, and maintaining a positive learning environment under the direct supervision of the principal.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers and administrative staff with daily tasks such as making copies and delivering materials.
- Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch periods, and field trips.
- Assist in the drop-off and pick-up of children through Driveline, especially during inclement weather.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior regarding student information.
- Alert the regular teacher to any problems or special information about individual students.
- Assist staff and students in using educational computer programs.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to positively interact with students and parents.
- Good communication skills with students, coworkers, administration, and parents.
- Ability to identify individual student needs and create a safe learning environment.
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
