About the position

The Elementary School and Before School Care Aide position at Riverstone International School is essential for providing classroom support and childcare services to students aged 3-11 years before the school day begins. This role involves working closely with Elementary School teachers and the Elementary School Director to ensure a safe and engaging environment for children. The position emphasizes the importance of positive interaction with students and adherence to safety protocols, while also supporting the school's mission of fostering academic and personal exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive at Riverstone by 7:00am and work until 3:30pm during the school year.
  • Assist with classroom learning engagements.
  • Assist with preparing and implementing daily activities.
  • Supervise children to ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to and that children are following established rules and behaving in a respectful and appropriate manner.
  • Report any safety or behavioral related issues to the Elementary School Director.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe environment.
  • Engage with children in a positive manner, including implementing appropriate guidance techniques in line with classroom expectations and Riverstone's guiding principles.
  • Assure that all students are signed in upon arrival to Before School Care.
  • Supervise students both inside the classroom and outside.
  • Engage with staff, parents, and community members in a positive manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to obtain City of Boise Child Care Worker license
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work well with and communicate with young children and parents
  • Demonstrated success in working as a member of a team
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Able to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • Able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children's health and safety.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish Speaking for 30 minutes daily
  • Experience in Childcare (1 year preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
