About the position

The Match Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Arts Teacher for an immediate opening at our Hyde Park Campus in Boston, MA. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is eager to contribute to the development of our elementary school arts program. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive Arts curriculum that encompasses both Visual Arts and Performing Arts for elementary school students. Classes will be conducted during the regular school day, and the teacher will have access to a dedicated Arts classroom space, along with a budget for necessary equipment and supplies. In this role, the Arts Teacher will be expected to teach classes across multiple grade levels, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education in the arts. The teacher will also assist with various duties to maintain a positive and safe school culture, participate in regular professional development and coaching sessions, and attend faculty meetings. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as part of the faculty team. The compensation for this position ranges from $61,812 to $98,899, depending on the candidate's prior teaching experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package that covers 90% of health insurance costs and offers student loan repayment assistance. Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive Arts curriculum for elementary school students.
  • Teach Visual Arts and Performing Arts classes at multiple grade levels.
  • Assist with duties to uphold a positive and safe school culture.
  • Participate in regular professional development, coaching sessions, and faculty meetings.
  • Perform other duties assigned as a member of the school faculty.

Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years of prior experience as a Visual and/or Performing Arts teacher, ideally with elementary school-aged children.
  • Hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or obtain the licensure within a year of date of hire.
  • Articulate a clear vision for an elementary school Arts curriculum.
  • Demonstrate skill in designing and delivering lessons.
  • Demonstrate skill in building effective relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Hold a deep belief that all students can and will succeed.
  • Possess a desire to continually improve their practice as an educator by taking and implementing feedback.
