About the position

Veritas Classical Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grammar School Assistant Teacher for the 1st Grade Class for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. The role focuses on teaching through prescribed curricula while fostering a Gospel-centered educational environment that encourages students to delight in, discern, and display the glory of God in all aspects of culture.

Responsibilities

• Teaching through the prescribed curricula for a specified grade
• Prepare a yearly scope and sequence
• Turn in weekly lesson plans by due date
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Maintain an organized and beautiful classroom that inspires learning
• Instruct clearly and provide timely feedback
• Update grading system weekly
• Communicate regularly and clearly with parents to assist them in their roles as spiritual and academic mentors
• Uphold rigorous academic and behavioral standards
• Administer lessons in a manner that inspires student engagement and learning

Requirements

• Master's degree in Education or related field preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Math or related field
• At least 3 years of experience working with students
• Demonstrated commitment to classical, Christian education
• Ability to support and abide by the school's Statement of Faith
