About the position
The Elementary School Substitute Teacher at Stride, Inc. is a temporary contractor role responsible for delivering online education to students. This position requires a highly qualified, state-certified educator who can provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process. The teacher will work closely with students and their families to ensure personalized learning experiences and monitor student progress through the learning management system. The role typically involves working from home, with occasional travel for school functions such as state testing.
Responsibilities
- Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
- Commits to personalizing learning for all students
- Demonstrates a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
- Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery
- Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach
- Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance
- Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests
- Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families and communicates regularly with students and learning coaches
- Supports learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues
- Travels as required for professional development and student testing
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check

- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers
