About the position

The Elementary School Teacher at American Preparatory Academy is responsible for delivering the curriculum and ensuring student learning and progress. This role involves assessing student achievement, developing lesson plans, and creating a nurturing environment that meets the needs of all students. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, engage with parents, and participate in professional development to enhance their teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the AMERICAN PREP curriculum equitably to all students.
• Adhere to the AMERICAN PREP Staff Manual and follow the 180-day plan for their grade level.
• Communicate knowledge to students in an engaging and effective manner.
• Assess student achievement and develop plans for student progress based on assessment data.
• Create and maintain a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment.
• Collaborate with team partners to develop curriculum aligned with AMERICAN PREP standards.
• Implement Direct Instruction approaches as needed.
• Support standards-based instructional approaches for high-ability learners.
• Participate in team meetings and provide professional guidance.
• Utilize data gathering and submit required reports timely.
• Demonstrate understanding of the Trivium and provide appropriate instruction.
• Prepare students for required assessments and hold parent/student/teacher conferences.
• Work effectively with parent volunteers.

Requirements

• Utah professional/associate license or Bachelor's Degree.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and committed to student success.
• Ability to work well in a teamwork environment.
