About the position
The Elementary School Teacher for 2nd Grade is responsible for planning and providing engaging classroom learning experiences that foster the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. This role involves supervising students, monitoring their outcomes, and maintaining effective communication with parents, staff, and the community. The teacher will develop instructional plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of all students while ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide appropriate classroom learning experiences for students.
- Supervise students in various school-related settings.
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
- Communicate and interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet student needs.
- Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- Monitor the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Utilize assessment strategies aligned with curriculum and standards.
- Engage in continuous professional quality improvement.
- Implement classroom instructional strategies that reflect students' cultures and learning styles.
- Collaborate with peers, parents, and community stakeholders to improve educational experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education with appropriate subject area.
- Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in a teaching content area.
- Extensive knowledge of curriculum and effective classroom instructional practices.
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in a specific subject area.
