About the position

The Elementary School Teacher (Art) at Parkview Elementary School is responsible for providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for students. This role involves developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, and collaborating with other educators and stakeholders to enhance student learning. The teacher will also evaluate student performance and maintain documentation to comply with educational standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with all stakeholders to establish and maintain leadership and positive relationships focused on student learning.
• Designs instruction to ensure all students are engaged and participating in learning objectives.
• Develops and guides learning in partnership with students to ensure continuous improvement in alignment with state and district standards.
• Evaluates individual student and class performance to adjust instruction for improvement.
• Implements current best practice instruction and resources to enhance student learning.
• Maintains documentation and required reports to comply with educational policies and regulations.
• Manages classroom structure and procedures to establish a positive and safe learning environment.
• Models positive behaviors to promote appropriate social and interpersonal conduct.
• Oversees assistant teachers, student teachers, and volunteers to support classroom operations.
• Participates in meetings to convey and gather information relevant to the role.
• Responds to emergency situations to ensure student safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Current Louisiana teacher certification.
• Experience in lesson planning.
