About the position
The Elementary School Teacher at K12 Services, Inc. is a contractor role responsible for delivering course content in an online environment. The teacher will provide instruction, support, and guidance to students, focusing on their individual needs while managing the learning process. This position requires monitoring student progress through the learning management system and collaborating closely with students and their families to achieve educational goals. Although primarily a remote position, occasional travel to school functions is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
- Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity and make student placement and promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and learning coaches/parents.
- Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues.
Requirements
- Elementary School Teaching Certification required.
- Must be able to obtain a West Virginia Teaching License prior to employment.
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during work hours.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in online education or virtual teaching environments.
- Familiarity with Stride K12's learning management system.
