About the position
The Elementary School Teacher at Stride, Inc. is responsible for delivering engaging online education to K-5 students in a virtual environment. This role involves building relationships with students, families, and learning coaches to ensure student progress and success. The teacher will provide instruction, support, and guidance tailored to individual student needs, while also managing the learning process through Stride K12's learning management system. This position requires occasional travel for school functions and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
- Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity, make student placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress.
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner.
- Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment.
- Travel as required for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and as required by school.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- Active state teaching license in Oklahoma.
- Ability to clear required background check.
