About the position

The Elementary Teacher at Stride, Inc. is a state-certified educator responsible for delivering course content in an online environment. This role involves providing instruction, support, and guidance to students while managing their learning processes and focusing on individual needs. The teacher monitors student progress through the learning management system and collaborates closely with students and parents to achieve educational goals. Although primarily a remote position, occasional travel is required for school functions such as state testing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
  • Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
  • Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
  • Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
  • Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
  • Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity and make student placement and promotion decisions.
  • Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and learning coaches/parents.
  • Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment.
  • Travel as required for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active state teaching license
  • Ability to clear required background check

  • Experience working with proposed age group
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
  • Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
  • Experience with online learning platforms
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
  • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
  • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum.
