About the position

The Kindergarten Interim Teacher is responsible for planning and providing appropriate classroom learning experiences for students, fostering an environment conducive to their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. This role involves supervising students, monitoring and evaluating their outcomes, and maintaining effective communication with students, parents, staff, and the community. The teacher will develop and modify instructional plans to meet diverse student needs while ensuring adherence to curriculum guidelines and maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide appropriate classroom learning experiences for students.
  • Supervise students in various school-related settings.
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet student needs.
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
  • Monitor the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Utilize assessment strategies aligned with curriculum and standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional quality improvement.
  • Implement classroom instructional strategies that reflect students' diverse backgrounds.
  • Establish a classroom management system that promotes a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with peers, parents, and community stakeholders to improve educational experiences.
  • Integrate technology into teaching and learning processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education with appropriate subject area.
  • Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in a teaching content area.
  • Extensive knowledge of curriculum and effective classroom instructional practices.
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prepare course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students.
  • Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a specific subject area.
