About the position
The Elementary Teacher position at Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) is a remote role focused on delivering high-quality education to K-5 students in a virtual environment. The teacher is responsible for building relationships with students, families, and learning coaches to ensure student progress and success. This role requires a commitment to personalized learning and the ability to adapt instruction based on individual student needs, while also managing the learning process through Stride K12's learning management system.
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
- Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity and make student placement and promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with students and learning coaches/parents.
- Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues, as well as basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment.
- Travel as required for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and as required by school.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- Active state teaching license in Oklahoma.
- Ability to clear required background check.
- 0-1 year of related professional experience.

- Experience working with proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
