About the position

The Elementary School Teacher at Stride, Inc. is a state-certified educator responsible for delivering course content in an online environment. This role involves providing instruction, support, and guidance to students while managing their learning processes. Teachers work closely with students and their families to ensure academic progress and are required to travel occasionally for school functions. The position emphasizes a commitment to diversity and inclusion, aiming to provide a personalized educational experience for students.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of students' academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations and showing active interest in students' achievement.
  • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
  • Conduct live synchronous teaching for a minimum of 15 hours per week.
  • Support objectives asynchronously, including planning course objectives and preparing learning plans.
  • Collaborate with local, regional, and national teams regarding instruction and data-driven decision making.
  • Be open to coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
  • Augment course content under guidance from the principal and coach using appropriate tools.
  • Submit grades and maintain a grade book, ensuring academic honesty and integrity.
  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and learning coaches.
  • Organize social and educational activities for students and families, including virtual clubs and outings.
  • Travel to testing sites to proctor state exams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Six months of student teaching experience
  • Ability to clear required background checks
