About the position

Gretna Public Schools is looking for qualified candidates to fill various teaching and administrative positions for the upcoming school year, including roles at the high school and middle school levels. The positions aim to enhance the educational experience for students across different subjects and special education needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the administration of the high school
• Teach specialized subjects in SPED for high school and middle school
• Instruct students in foreign languages at the middle school level
• Deliver family consumer science education to middle school students
• Conduct vocal and instrumental music classes for middle school students
• Provide special education support for middle school students
• Teach art classes to middle school students
• Instruct physical education and health classes
• Facilitate speech and drama classes
• Teach 6th-grade curriculum
• Instruct 7th and 8th-grade math, reading, science, English, and social studies

Requirements

• Valid teaching certification for the respective subject area
• Experience in teaching or administration in a school setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in special education
• Familiarity with curriculum development
• Background in extracurricular activities such as music or drama
