About the position

Lakeville Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual for the position of 2nd Grade Long Term Substitute Teacher at Cherry View Elementary. This full-time role is expected to commence on approximately October 28, 2024, and will conclude on January 29, 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive educational experience to students in the 2nd grade, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment that inspires a passion for learning in every student. The position requires the teacher to possess or be eligible for a K-6 Elementary Education license in the state of Minnesota. The teacher will be expected to implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure the academic and social success of each student. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the substitute teacher will collaborate with other educators and staff to support the overall mission of Lakeville Area Schools, which is to ensure success for every student personally, socially, academically, and civically. Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction to 2nd grade students.
  • Implement lesson plans and adapt them as necessary to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and development.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and participation.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Must possess or be eligible for a K-6 Elementary Education license in the state of Minnesota.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a diverse educational environment.
  • Familiarity with current educational technology and teaching methods.
  • Previous experience in a long-term substitute or teaching role.
