About the position

Stellar Virtual is seeking a dedicated and innovative Elementary Teacher to provide high-quality virtual instruction to students in grades K-5. This role is designed for passionate educators who are excited about engaging students in a remote environment and leveraging technology to deliver an exceptional educational experience. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment while fostering meaningful connections with young learners across Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in core subjects for grades K-5 using Stellar Virtual's online platform.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with special education needs and English language learners.
• Implement the Stellar Virtual curriculum and tailor lessons to meet state standards, focusing on critical thinking and foundational skills development.
• Assess student performance regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Use data-driven insights to inform instruction and support student growth.
• Maintain records of student progress and collaborate with support staff to address academic challenges.
• Create a virtual classroom environment conducive to learning, inclusivity, and respect.
• Utilize engaging instructional strategies and digital tools to promote active student participation.
• Foster a sense of community within the virtual classroom through interactive activities and consistent communication.
• Participate in professional development opportunities provided by Stellar Virtual to enhance instructional skills and stay current with online education best practices.
• Proctor state testing exams with students during in-person events, which may require periodic travel within the State of Indiana.
• Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to share strategies, resources, and insights for effective online teaching.
• Actively contribute to school-wide goals and initiatives focused on student achievement and well-being.

Requirements

• Previous teaching experience in elementary education is preferred; virtual teaching experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with virtual learning tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, Classlink) and a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage young learners in a virtual environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe online learning environment.
• A bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field is required.
• A valid Indiana teaching license for grades K-5 is required.
