About the position

Total Tutors is seeking a general tutor for elementary and early childhood grades who can teach a variety of subjects including basic sciences, history, English, and math. The ideal candidate should be engaging, approachable, and possess good classroom management skills. This position is designed for independent contractors with flexible hours, primarily focusing on in-person tutoring in the Irvine, CA area.

Responsibilities

• Teach a wide array of subjects for elementary and early childhood grades.
• Provide tutoring for basic sciences, history, English, and math.
• Engage and motivate students while delivering positive reinforcement.
• Help students with homework and study for tests.
• Organize and teach test prep and study skills.
• Respond promptly to client communications, especially through text messaging.
• Travel to students' locations for in-person tutoring sessions.

Requirements

• Must be able to tutor for basic sciences, history, English, and math.
• At least 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience required.
• Must be organized and professional.
• Must be extremely punctual and responsive.
• Ability to travel up to 30 minutes for tutoring sessions.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to teach Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
• Experience with early childhood education is beneficial.
