About the position
The Elementary Tutor position at Prep Academy Tutors involves providing personalized academic support to students in grades K-12. Tutors will deliver tailored tutoring programs, communicate with parents about student progress, and offer both remedial and enrichment support to enhance students' understanding of the curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge of the state curriculum.
- Deliver supplemental assignments to promote a greater understanding of the material.
- Offer remedial and enrichment support for students.
- Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress.
- Customize tutoring approaches tailored to the individual needs of each student.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Valid Pennsylvania State teaching certificate or equivalent is preferred.
- Current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate is acceptable.
- Two or more years of experience as a private or charter school classroom teacher is required.
- Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College is acceptable.
- Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College is preferred.
